Astrid Sonne is a Danish composer, producer, and viola player renowned for her innovative fusion of classical instrumentation with electronic experimentation. Born in 1994 on the island of Bornholm, Denmark, she began playing the viola at age six. At 16, she moved to Copenhagen for classical training but transitioned to electronic composition at 18, teaching herself digital production using Ableton Live.

Sonne's work is characterized by a seamless blend of baroque string arrangements, ambient textures, and minimalist electronics. Her compositions often explore contrasts—melding acoustic and synthetic sounds, structure and improvisation—to create emotionally resonant pieces. She draws inspiration from postmodern and minimalist music, as well as her experiences in choral and jazz ensembles.
