About

Hudson Mohawke, born Ross Matthew Birchard on February 11, 1986, in Glasgow, Scotland, is a pioneering DJ, producer, and composer known for his genre-defying approach to electronic and hip-hop music. He began his career as DJ Itchy, becoming the youngest-ever UK DMC finalist at age 15. In 2007, he co-founded the LuckyMe collective and later signed with Warp Records, releasing his debut album Butter in 2009.

Mohawke gained prominence as one half of the duo TNGHT, alongside Canadian producer Lunice. Their 2012 self-titled EP played a significant role in shaping the festival trap movement. That same year, he joined Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music production team, contributing to projects like Cruel Summer and Yeezus.

His subsequent albums, Lantern (2015) and Cry Sugar (2022), showcase his versatility, blending elements of R&B, neoclassical, and experimental electronic music. Mohawke's innovative style has influenced a wide range of artists and genres, solidifying his reputation as a forward-thinking force in contemporary music.
