Mount Kimbie is a British electronic music group formed in London in 2008 by Dominic Maker and Kai Campos. Initially emerging from the UK dubstep scene, they gained recognition with their debut EPs Maybes and Sketch on Glass in 2009. Their first full-length album, Crooks & Lovers (2010), received critical acclaim and was noted for its innovative blend of electronic textures and ambient soundscapes. In 2013, they released Cold Spring Fault Less Youth, which featured collaborations with King Krule and marked a shift towards more structured songwriting. Their third album, Love What Survives (2017), incorporated post-punk and krautrock influences, showcasing a more raw and live band feel. In 2022, they released the double album MK 3.5: Die Cuts | City Planning, with each half reflecting the individual styles of Maker and Campos. Their latest album, The Sunset Violent (2024), sees the group officially expand to a quartet with the addition of Andrea Balency-Béarn and Marc Pell, exploring a grittier, shoegaze-influenced sound.
