Boiler Room originated with a simple setup: a webcam affixed to a wall, offering a glimpse into London's underground music scene. Since its inception in 2010, Boiler Room has curated a distinctive archive comprising over 8000 performances by more than 5000 artists across 200 cities. Boiler Room TV are steadfast in our support for emerging artists and in sharing stories from the fringes of music culture. They aim is to bridge local dance floors with the global community. Notably, Boiler Room ensures that all artists receive compensation for their performances, without exception. In their commercial endeavors, including ticketed and branded shows, artists have always been paid industry-standard fees. Additionally, as of June 2020, Boiler Room implemented a universal artist fee for all editorial shows. Previously, boiler room editorial shows, which are self-funded and free to attend, sometimes operated on a promotional basis, where artists' fees were not covered. However this has since changed and involved reducing the number of projects, introducing ticketed events and tours, and exploring new brand partnerships, all aimed at ensuring financial sustainability and providing adequate support for every artist. Boiler Room was established without external funding or investment. Over the span of eight years, they have cultivated a business that has created numerous job opportunities for young people and fosters a diverse, forward-thinking team deeply rooted in club culture. While their in-house events and content remain free to access, they have sought investment from individuals who share their vision, as well as entered into brand partnerships to generate revenue.
